Kapitel 42

4 So erhöre nun, laß mich reden1696; ich3045 will dich fragen7592, lehre mich!

5 Ich7200 habe8085 dich mit241 den Ohren8088 gehöret, und mein Auge5869 siehet dich auch nun.

6 Darum schuldige ich mich5162 und tue Buße in Staub6083 und Asche665.

7 Da310 nun der HErr3068 diese Worte1697 mit Hiob347 geredet hatte1696; sprach559 er zu3559 Eliphas464 von Theman8489: Mein Zorn639 ist1696 ergrimmet über dich und3068 über deine zween Freunde7453; denn ihr2734 habt nicht recht von mir8147 geredet wie mein Knecht5650 Hiob347.

8 So nehmet nun sieben7651 Farren6499 und sieben7651 Widder352 und gehet hin3212 zu6213 meinem Knechte5650 Hiob347 und opfert Brandopfer5930 für euch1696 und laßt meinen Knecht5650 Hiob347 für euch bitten6419. Denn ihn will ich ansehen5375, daß ich euch nicht3947 sehen lasse, wie ihr Torheit5039 begangen habt; denn ihr habt nicht5927 recht3559 von mir6440 geredet wie mein Knecht5650 Hiob347.

9 Da gingen3212 hin Eliphas464 von Theman8489, Bildad1085 von Suah7747 und Zophar6691 von Naema5284 und taten, wie der HErr3068 ihnen gesagt1696 hatte6213. Und der HErr3068 sah an5375 Hiob347.

10 Und der HErr3068 wendete das3254 Gefängnis7622 Hiobs347, da7725 er bat6419 für seine Freunde7453. Und der HErr3068 gab Hiob347 zwiefältig4932 so viel, als er gehabt hatte.

11 Und es5162 kamen935 zu ihm alle seine Brüder251 und alle seine Schwestern269 und alle, die ihn vorhin kannten, und aßen398 mit ihm in6440 seinem Hause1004 und kehreten sich3045 zu ihm und trösteten ihn über allem Übel7451, das der HErr3068 über ihn hatte935 kommen lassen. Und ein376 jeglicher gab5414 ihm einen schönen Groschen7192 und ein gülden Stirnband5141.

12 Und der HErr3068 segnete1288 hernach319 Hiob347 mehr denn vorhin, daß er kriegte vierzehntausend Schafe6629 und sechstausend8337 Kamele1581 und tausend505 Joch6776 Rinder1241 und tausend505 Esel860.

Job

Chapter 42

1 THEN Job answered the LORD, and said,

2 I know that thou canst do all these things, and that no purpose can be hid from thee.

3 Who am I to think that I can give counsel without knowledge? Therefore thou hast declared to me that I have uttered that which I did not understand, things too wonderful for me which I did not know.

4 Hear me, I pray thee, and I will speak; I will ask thee, and declare thou to me;

5 I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees thee.

6 Therefore, I will keep silent, and repent in dust and ashes.

7 And it came to pass, after the LORD had spoken these words to Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against you, and against your two friends; for you have not spoken in my presence that which is right, as my servant Job has.

8 Now therefore take for yourselves seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you; for him will I accept, lest I deal contemptuously with you, for you have not spoken in my presence the thing which is right, as my servant Job has done.

9 So Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the Lord had told them; and the LORD favored Job.

10 And the LORD restored to Job all that he had lost, when he prayed for his friends; also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

11 Then came there to him all his brothers and all his sisters and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house; for they had been in distress over him, and they comforted him for all the hardships that the LORD had brought upon him; and every man also gave him a ewe, and every one an earring of gold.

12 So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep and six thousand camels and a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand she-asses.

13 He also had seven sons and three daughters.

14 And he named the first Jemima; and the name of the second was Kezia; and the name of the third, Karna-puch.

15 And in all the land were found no women as beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers.

16 After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his sons and his son's sons, even four generations.

17 So Job died, being old and contented and full of days.
