Chapter 21

1 After3326 these5023 things Jesus2424 showed5319 himself1438 again3825 to the disciples3101 at1909 the sea2281 of Tiberias;5085 and on this3779 wise showed5319 he himself.

2 There were together3674 Simon4613 Peter,4074 and Thomas2381 called3004 Didymus,1324 and Nathanael3482 of Cana2580 in Galilee,1056 and the sons of Zebedee,2199 and two1417 other243 of his disciples.3101

3 Simon4613 Peter4074 said3004 to them, I go5217 a fishing.232 They say3004 to him, We also2532 go2064 with you. They went1831 forth,1831 and entered305 into1519 a ship4143 immediately;2117 and that night3571 they caught4084 nothing.3762

4 But when the morning4405 was now2235 come,1096 Jesus2424 stood2476 on1519 the shore:123 but the disciples3101 knew1492 not that it was Jesus.2424

5 Then3767 Jesus2424 said3004 to them, Children,3813 have2192 you any3387 meat?4371 They answered611 him, No.3756

6 And he said2036 to them, Cast906 the net1350 on1519 the right1188 side3313 of the ship,4143 and you shall find.2147 They cast906 therefore,3767 and now3765 they were not able2480 to draw1670 it for the multitude4128 of fishes.2486

7 Therefore3767 that disciple3101 whom3739 Jesus2424 loved25 said3004 to Peter,4074 It is the Lord.2962 Now3767 when Simon4613 Peter4074 heard191 that it was the Lord,2962 he girt1241 his fisher's1903 coat1903 to him, (for he was naked,1131) and did cast906 himself1438 into1519 the sea.2281

8 And the other243 disciples3101 came2064 in a little4142 ship;4142 (for they were not far3112 from land,1093 but as it were two1250 hundred1250 cubits,4083) dragging4951 the net1350 with fishes.2486

9 As soon then3767 as they were come576 to land,1093 they saw991 a fire of coals439 there, and fish3795 laid1945 thereon,1945 and bread.740

10 Jesus2424 said3004 to them, Bring5342 of the fish3795 which3739 you have now3568 caught.4084

11 Simon4613 Peter4074 went305 up, and drew1670 the net1350 to land1093 full3324 of great3173 fishes,2486 an hundred1540 and fifty4004 and three:5140 and for all there were so5118 many,5118 yet was not the net1350 broken.4977

12 Jesus2424 said3004 to them, Come1205 and dine.709 And none3762 of the disciples3101 dared5111 ask1833 him, Who5101 are1488 you? knowing1492 that it was the Lord.2962

13 Jesus2424 then3767 comes,2064 and takes2983 bread,740 and gives1325 them, and fish3795 likewise.3668

14 This5124 is now2235 the third5154 time that Jesus2424 showed5319 himself to his disciples,3101 after that he was risen1453 from the dead.3498

15 So3767 when3753 they had dined,709 Jesus2424 said3004 to Simon4613 Peter,4074 Simon,4613 son of Jonas,2495 love25 you me more4119 than these?5130 He said3004 to him, Yes,3483 Lord;2962 you know1492 that I love5368 you. He said3004 to him, Feed1006 my lambs.721

16 He said3004 to him again3825 the second1208 time, Simon,4613 son of Jonas,2495 love25 you me? He said3004 to him, Yes,3483 Lord;2962 you know1492 that I love5368 you. He said3004 to him, Feed4165 my sheep.4263

17 He said3004 to him the third5154 time, Simon,4613 son of Jonas,2495 love5368 you me? Peter4074 was grieved3076 because3754 he said2036 to him the third5154 time, Love5368 you me? And he said2036 to him, Lord,2962 you know1492 all3956 things; you know1097 that I love5368 you. Jesus2424 said3004 to him, Feed1006 my sheep.4263

18 Truly,281 truly,281 I say3004 to you, When3753 you were2258 young,3501 you gird2224 yourself,4572 and walked4043 where3699 you would:2309 but when3752 you shall be old,1095 you shall stretch1614 forth1614 your hands,5495 and another243 shall gird2224 you, and carry5342 you where3699 you would2309 not.

19 This5124 spoke2036 he, signifying4591 by what4169 death2288 he should glorify1392 God.2316 And when he had spoken2036 this,5124 he said3004 to him, Follow190 me.

20 Then1161 Peter,4074 turning1994 about,1994 sees991 the disciple3101 whom3739 Jesus2424 loved25 following;190 which3739 also2532 leaned377 on1909 his breast4738 at1722 supper,1173 and said,2036 Lord,2962 which5101 is he that betrays3860 you?

21 Peter4074 seeing1492 him said3004 to Jesus,2424 Lord,2962 and what5101 shall this3778 man do?

22 Jesus2424 said3004 to him, If1437 I will2309 that he tarry3306 till2193 I come,2064 what5101 is that to you? follow190 you me.

23 Then3767 went1831 this3778 saying3056 abroad1831 among1519 the brothers,80 that that disciple3101 should not die:599 yet2532 Jesus2424 said2036 not to him, He shall not die;599 but, If1437 I will that he tarry till2193 I come,2064 what5101 is that to you?

24 This3778 is the disciple3101 which3588 testifies3140 of these5130 things, and wrote1125 these5023 things: and we know1492 that his testimony3141 is true.227

25 And there are also2532 many4183 other243 things which3745 Jesus2424 did,4160 the which,3748 if1437 they should be written1125 every2596 one,1520 I suppose3633 that even3761 the world2889 itself846 could not contain5562 the books975 that should be written.1125 Amen.281

Chapter 21

1 AFTER these things, Jesus showed himself again to his disciples by the sea of Tiberias; and he appeared in this way:

2 They were all together, Simon Peter, and Thomas who is called the Twin, and Nathanael of Cana of Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of the disciples.

3 Simon Peter said to them, I am going to catch fish. They said to him, We also will come with you. So they went out and went up into the boat; and that night they caught nothing.

4 When morning came, Jesus stood by the sea side; and the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

5 So Jesus said to them, Boys, have you got anything to eat? They said to him, No.

6 He said to them, Throw your net on the right side of the boat, and you will find. So they threw it, and they were not able to draw the net, because of the many fishes which it had caught.

7 Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, That is our Lord. When Simon heard that it was our Lord, he took his cloak and girded it around his waist, because he was naked; and he jumped into the sea to come to Jesus.

8 But the other disciples came by boat; for they were not very far from land, but about a hundred yards, and they were dragging the net of fishes.

9 When they landed, they saw burning coals set, and a fish laid on them, and bread.

10 Jesus said to them, Bring some of the fish which you have now caught.

11 So Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land, full of large fishes, one hundred and fifty-three; and in spite of this weight, the net did not break.

12 Jesus said to them, Come, break your fast. But not one of the disciples dared to ask him who he was, for they knew he was our Lord.

13 Then Jesus drew near, and took bread and fish, and gave to them.

14 This is the third time that Jesus appeared to his disciples, since he rose up from the dead.

15 When they had broken their fast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me more than these things? He said to him, Yes, my Lord; you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my male lambs.

16 He said to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me? He said to him, Yes, my Lord; you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my sheep.

17 He said to him again the third time, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me? It grieved Peter because he said to him the third time, Do you love me? So he said to him, My Lord, you understand well everything, you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my female lambs.

18 Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you used to tie up your girdle yourself, and walk wherever you pleased; but when you become old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will tie up for you your girdle, and take you where you do not wish.

19 He said this, to show by what death he would glorify God. And when he had said these things, he said to him, Follow me.

20 Simon Peter turned around and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following him, the one who leaned on the breast of Jesus at the supper, and said, My Lord, who will betray you?

21 When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, My Lord, what about him?

22 Jesus said to him, If I wish him to remain until I come, what difference does that make to you? You follow me.

23 This word then went out among the brethren, that that disciple would not die. But what Jesus said was not that he would not die; but, If I wish that he should remain until I come back, what difference does that make to you?

24 This is the disciple who testified concerning all of these things, and who also wrote them; and we know that his testimony is true.

25 There are also a great many other things which Jesus did, which, if they were written one by one, not even this world, I believe, could contain the en_lbp_books that would be written.

1 After3326 these5023 things Jesus2424 showed5319 himself1438 again3825 to the disciples3101 at1909 the sea2281 of Tiberias;5085 and on this3779 wise showed5319 he himself.

1 AFTER these things, Jesus showed himself again to his disciples by the sea of Tiberias; and he appeared in this way:

2 There were together3674 Simon4613 Peter,4074 and Thomas2381 called3004 Didymus,1324 and Nathanael3482 of Cana2580 in Galilee,1056 and the sons of Zebedee,2199 and two1417 other243 of his disciples.3101

2 They were all together, Simon Peter, and Thomas who is called the Twin, and Nathanael of Cana of Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of the disciples.

3 Simon Peter said to them, I am going to catch fish. They said to him, We also will come with you. So they went out and went up into the boat; and that night they caught nothing.

4 But when the morning4405 was now2235 come,1096 Jesus2424 stood2476 on1519 the shore:123 but the disciples3101 knew1492 not that it was Jesus.2424

4 When morning came, Jesus stood by the sea side; and the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

5 Then3767 Jesus2424 said3004 to them, Children,3813 have2192 you any3387 meat?4371 They answered611 him, No.3756

5 So Jesus said to them, Boys, have you got anything to eat? They said to him, No.

6 And he said2036 to them, Cast906 the net1350 on1519 the right1188 side3313 of the ship,4143 and you shall find.2147 They cast906 therefore,3767 and now3765 they were not able2480 to draw1670 it for the multitude4128 of fishes.2486

6 He said to them, Throw your net on the right side of the boat, and you will find. So they threw it, and they were not able to draw the net, because of the many fishes which it had caught.

7 Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, That is our Lord. When Simon heard that it was our Lord, he took his cloak and girded it around his waist, because he was naked; and he jumped into the sea to come to Jesus.

8 And the other243 disciples3101 came2064 in a little4142 ship;4142 (for they were not far3112 from land,1093 but as it were two1250 hundred1250 cubits,4083) dragging4951 the net1350 with fishes.2486

8 But the other disciples came by boat; for they were not very far from land, but about a hundred yards, and they were dragging the net of fishes.

9 As soon then3767 as they were come576 to land,1093 they saw991 a fire of coals439 there, and fish3795 laid1945 thereon,1945 and bread.740

9 When they landed, they saw burning coals set, and a fish laid on them, and bread.

10 Jesus2424 said3004 to them, Bring5342 of the fish3795 which3739 you have now3568 caught.4084

10 Jesus said to them, Bring some of the fish which you have now caught.

11 Simon4613 Peter4074 went305 up, and drew1670 the net1350 to land1093 full3324 of great3173 fishes,2486 an hundred1540 and fifty4004 and three:5140 and for all there were so5118 many,5118 yet was not the net1350 broken.4977

11 So Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land, full of large fishes, one hundred and fifty-three; and in spite of this weight, the net did not break.

12 Jesus2424 said3004 to them, Come1205 and dine.709 And none3762 of the disciples3101 dared5111 ask1833 him, Who5101 are1488 you? knowing1492 that it was the Lord.2962

12 Jesus said to them, Come, break your fast. But not one of the disciples dared to ask him who he was, for they knew he was our Lord.

13 Jesus2424 then3767 comes,2064 and takes2983 bread,740 and gives1325 them, and fish3795 likewise.3668

13 Then Jesus drew near, and took bread and fish, and gave to them.

14 This5124 is now2235 the third5154 time that Jesus2424 showed5319 himself to his disciples,3101 after that he was risen1453 from the dead.3498

14 This is the third time that Jesus appeared to his disciples, since he rose up from the dead.

15 When they had broken their fast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me more than these things? He said to him, Yes, my Lord; you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my male lambs.

16 He said3004 to him again3825 the second1208 time, Simon,4613 son of Jonas,2495 love25 you me? He said3004 to him, Yes,3483 Lord;2962 you know1492 that I love5368 you. He said3004 to him, Feed4165 my sheep.4263

16 He said to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me? He said to him, Yes, my Lord; you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my sheep.

17 He said to him again the third time, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me? It grieved Peter because he said to him the third time, Do you love me? So he said to him, My Lord, you understand well everything, you know that I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my female lambs.

18 Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you used to tie up your girdle yourself, and walk wherever you pleased; but when you become old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will tie up for you your girdle, and take you where you do not wish.

19 This5124 spoke2036 he, signifying4591 by what4169 death2288 he should glorify1392 God.2316 And when he had spoken2036 this,5124 he said3004 to him, Follow190 me.

19 He said this, to show by what death he would glorify God. And when he had said these things, he said to him, Follow me.

20 Simon Peter turned around and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following him, the one who leaned on the breast of Jesus at the supper, and said, My Lord, who will betray you?

21 Peter4074 seeing1492 him said3004 to Jesus,2424 Lord,2962 and what5101 shall this3778 man do?

21 When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, My Lord, what about him?

22 Jesus2424 said3004 to him, If1437 I will2309 that he tarry3306 till2193 I come,2064 what5101 is that to you? follow190 you me.

22 Jesus said to him, If I wish him to remain until I come, what difference does that make to you? You follow me.

23 This word then went out among the brethren, that that disciple would not die. But what Jesus said was not that he would not die; but, If I wish that he should remain until I come back, what difference does that make to you?

24 This3778 is the disciple3101 which3588 testifies3140 of these5130 things, and wrote1125 these5023 things: and we know1492 that his testimony3141 is true.227

24 This is the disciple who testified concerning all of these things, and who also wrote them; and we know that his testimony is true.

25 There are also a great many other things which Jesus did, which, if they were written one by one, not even this world, I believe, could contain the en_lbp_books that would be written.
