帖撒羅尼迦前書

第5章

1 弟兄們，論到時候、日期，不用我［I］寫信給你們；

2 因為你們自己明明曉得，主的日子來到，好像夜間的賊一樣。

3 人正說「平安穩妥」的時候，災禍忽然臨到他們，如同陣痛［travail］臨到懷胎的婦人一樣；他們絕不能逃脫。

4 弟兄們，你們卻不在黑暗裏，叫那日子臨到你們像賊一樣。

5 你們都是光明之子，都是白晝之子。我們不是屬黑夜的，也不是屬幽暗的。

6 所以我們不要睡覺像別人一樣，總要警醒謹守。

7 因為睡了的人是在夜間睡，醉了的人是在夜間醉。

8 但我們既然屬乎白晝，就應當謹守，把信和愛當作護胸甲［breastplate］遮胸；把得救的盼望當作頭盔戴上。

9 因為神不是預定我們受忿怒［wrath］，乃是預定我們藉著我們主耶穌基督得救。

10 他替我們死，叫我們無論醒著、睡著，都與他同活。

11 所以，你們該彼此勸慰，互相造就［edify］，正如你們素常所行的。

12 弟兄們，我們勸你們敬重那在你們中間勞苦的人，就是在主裏面治理你們、勸戒你們的。

13 又因他們所作的工，用愛心格外尊重他們。你們也要彼此和睦。

14 我們又勸弟兄們，要警戒不守規矩的人，安慰意志薄弱［comfort the feebleminded］的人，扶助軟弱的人，也要向眾人忍耐。

15 總要謹慎［See］，無論是誰都不可以惡報惡；或是彼此相待，或是待眾人，常要追求良善。

16 要常常喜樂。

17 不住的禱告。

18 凡事謝恩；因為這是神在基督耶穌裏為［concerning］你們所定的旨意。

19 不要將靈熄滅［Quench not the Spirit］。

20 不要藐視先知的講論。

21 凡事察驗［Prove all things］，善美的要持守。

22 各樣顯為惡的事［appearance of evil］要禁戒不作。

23 願那［very］賜平安的神使你們全然成聖［sanctify you wholly］。我又求神，願［and I pray God］你們的靈與魂與身體得蒙保守，在我們［our］主耶穌基督降臨的時候，完全無可指摘。

24 那召你們的本是信實的，他必成就這事。

25 請弟兄們為我們禱告。

26 與眾弟兄務要以聖潔的親嘴問安［Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss］。。

27 我指著主囑咐你們，要把這信念給眾聖潔［holy］弟兄聽。

28 願我們［our］主耶穌基督的恩常與你們同在。阿們［Amen］。

3 For1063 when3752 they shall say,3004 Peace1515 and2532 safety;803 then5119 sudden160 destruction3639 cometh upon2186 them,846 as5618 travail5604 upon a woman with child;2192 1722 1064 and2532 they shall not3364 escape.1628

4 But1161 ye,5210 brethren,80 are2075 not3756 in1722 darkness,4655 that2443 that day2250 should overtake2638 you5209 as5613 a thief.2812

5 Ye5210 are2075 all3956 the children5207 of light,5457 and2532 the children5207 of the day:2250 we are2070 not3756 of the night,3571 nor3761 of darkness.4655

6 Therefore686 3767 let us not3361 sleep,2518 as5613 do2532 others;3062 but235 let us watch1127 and2532 be sober.3525

7 For1063 they that sleep2518 sleep2518 in the night;3571 and2532 they that be drunken3182 are drunken3184 in the night.3571

8 But1161 let us,2249 who are5607 of the day,2250 be sober,3525 putting on1746 the breastplate2382 of faith4102 and2532 love;26 and2532 for a helmet,4030 the hope1680 of salvation.4991

9 For3754 God2316 hath not3756 appointed5087 us2248 to1519 wrath,3709 but235 to obtain1519 4047 salvation4991 by1223 our2257 Lord2962 Jesus2424 Christ,5547

10 Who died599 for5228 us,2257 that,2443 whether1535 we wake1127 or1535 sleep,2518 we should live2198 together260 with4862 him.846

11 Wherefore1352 comfort3870 yourselves together,240 and2532 edify3618 one another,1520 1520 even as2531 also2532 ye do.4160

12 And1161 we beseech2065 you,5209 brethren,80 to know1492 them which labor2872 among1722 you,5213 and2532 are over4291 you5216 in1722 the Lord,2962 and2532 admonish3560 you;5209

13 And2532 to esteem2233 them846 very highly5228 1537 4053 in1722 love26 for their work's sake.1223 846 2041 And be at peace1514 among1722 yourselves.1438

14 Now1161 we exhort3870 you,5209 brethren,80 warn3560 them that are unruly,813 comfort3888 the3588 feebleminded,3642 support472 the3588 weak,772 be patient3114 toward4314 all3956 men.

15 See3708 that none5100 3361 render591 evil2556 for473 evil2556 unto any5100 man; but235 ever3842 follow1377 that which is good,18 both2532 among1519 yourselves,240 and2532 to1519 all3956 men.
