1 我保羅，就是與你們見面的時候是謙卑的，但［but］不在你們那裏的時候向你們是勇敢的，如今親自藉著基督的溫柔、溫和［gentleness］勸你們。

2 有人以為我們［us］是憑著血氣行事，我也以為必須用勇敢待這等人；但［but］求你們不要叫我在你們那裏的時候，有這樣的勇敢。

2 But1161 I beseech1189 you, that I may not3361 be bold2292 when I am present3918 with that confidence,4006 wherewith3739 I think3049 to be bold5111 against1909 some,5100 which think3049 of us2248 as5613 if we walked4043 according2596 to the flesh.4561

3 因為我們雖然在血氣中行事，卻不隨從［after］血氣爭戰。

5 將各樣的妄想［imaginations］，各樣攔阻人認識神的那些自高之事，一概攻破了，又將人所有的心意奪回，使他都順服基督。
|
5 Casting down2507 imaginations,3053 and2532 every3956 high thing5313 that exalteth itself1869 against2596 the3588 knowledge1108 of God,2316 and2532 bringing into captivity163 every3956 thought3540 to1519 the3588 obedience5218 of Christ;5547

|
6 並且我已經預備好了，等你們十分順服的時候，要責罰那一切不順服的人。
|
6 And2532 having2192 in1722 a readiness2092 to revenge1556 all3956 disobedience,3876 when3752 your5216 obedience5218 is fulfilled.4137

|
7 你們是看外表［outward appearance］的嗎？倘若有人自信是屬基督的，他要再想想，他如何屬基督，我們也是如何屬基督的。
|
7 Do ye look on991 things3588 after2596 the outward appearance?4383 If any man1536 trust3982 to himself1438 that he is1511 Christ's,5547 let him of575 himself1438 think3049 this5124 again,3825 that,3754 as2531 he846 is Christ's,5547 even2532 so3779 are we2249 Christ's.5547

8 主賜給我們權柄，是要造就你們，並不是要敗壞你們；我就是為這權柄稍微誇口，也不至於慚愧。

9 我說這話，免得你們以為我寫信是要威嚇你們；

10 因為有人說：「他的信又沉重又利害，及至見面，卻是氣貌不揚，言語可鄙的［contemptible］。」
|
10 For3754 his letters,1992 3303 say5346 they, are weighty926 and2532 powerful;2478 but1161 his bodily4983 presence3952 is weak,772 and2532 his speech3056 contemptible.1848

11 這等人當想，我們不在那裏的時候，信上的言語如何，見面的時候，行事也必如何。

11 Let such a one5108 think3049 this,5124 that,3754 such3634 as we are2070 in word3056 by1223 letters1992 when we are absent,548 such5108 will we be also2532 in deed2041 when we are present.3918

12 因為我們不敢將自己和那自薦的人同列相比。他們用自己度量自己，用自己比較自己，乃是不智的［not wise］。

13 我們不願意在我們［our］分外的事上［of things］誇口，只要照神所定給我們的規限［measure of the rule which God hath distributed］去［reach］到你們那裏。
|
13 But1161 we2249 will not3780 boast2744 of1519 things without our measure,280 but235 according2596 to the3588 measure3358 of the3588 rule2583 which3739 God2316 hath distributed3307 to us,2254 a measure3358 to reach2185 even2532 unto891 you.5216

14 我們並非過了自己的界限，好像去［reached］不到你們那裏；因為我們早到你們那裏，傳了基督的福音。

14 For1063 we stretch not ourselves beyond5239 3756 1438 our measure, as though5613 we reached2185 not3361 unto1519 you:5209 for1063 we are come5348 as far as891 to you5216 also2532 in1722 preaching the3588 gospel2098 of Christ: 5547

15 我們不仗著別人所勞碌的，在分外的事上［things without our measure］誇口；但盼望［hope］你們信心增長的時候，所量給我們的規限［rule］，就可以因著你們更加開展，

16 得以將福音傳到你們以外的地方，並不是在別人界限之內，在別人所預備好、到我們手的事上誇口［not to boast in another man's line of things made ready to our hand］。
|

17 但誇口的，當指著主誇口。
|
17 But1161 he that glorieth,2744 let him glory2744 in1722 the Lord.2962

18 因為蒙悅納的，不是自己稱許的，乃是主所稱許的。
|
