以弗所書

第2章

1 你們死在過犯罪惡之中，他叫你們活過來。

2 那時，你們在其中行事為人，隨從今世的風俗，順服空中掌權者的首領，就是現今在叛逆之子心中運行的邪靈。

3 我們從前也都在他們中間，放縱肉體的私慾而行［conversation］，隨著肉體和心中所喜好的求滿足［fulfilling］，本為可怒之子，和別人一樣。

4 然而，神既有豐富的憐憫，因他愛我們的大愛，

5 當我們死在罪惡［sins］中的時候，便叫我們與基督一同活過來。（你們得救是本乎恩。）

6 他又叫我們一同復活［raised us up together］，又使我們在基督耶穌裏一同坐在天上［made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus］，

7 要將他極豐富的恩典，就是他藉著基督耶穌［through Christ Jesus］向我們所施的恩慈，顯明給後來的世代看。

8 你們得救是本乎恩，也藉［through］著信；這並不是出於自己，乃是神所賜的；

9 也不是出於行為，免得有人自誇。

10 我們原是他的工作，在基督耶穌裏創造而成［created］的，為要叫我們行善，就是神所預定［ordained］叫我們行的。

11 所以你們應當記念：你們從前按肉體是外邦人，是稱為沒受割禮的；這名原是那些憑人手在肉身上稱為受割禮之人所起的。

12 那時，你們沒有［without］基督，在以色列國民以外，在所應許的諸約上是局外人，並且活在世上沒有盼望［hope］，沒有神。

13 你們從前遠離神的人，如今卻在基督耶穌裏，靠著基督［Christ］的血，已經得親近了。

14 他是我們的和睦［For he is our peace］，將兩下合而為一，拆毀了我們［us］中間隔斷的牆；

15 而且以自己的身體廢掉冤仇，就是那記在律法上的規條，為要將兩下藉著自己造成一個新人，如此便成就了和睦。

16 既在十字架上滅了冤仇，便藉這十字架使兩下歸為一體，與神和好了，

17 並且來傳和平的福音給你們遠處的人，也給那近處的人。

18 因為我們兩下藉著他被一個靈［Spirit］所感，得以進到父面前。

19 因此［therefore］，你們不再作外人和客旅，是與聖徒同國，是神家裏的人了；

20 並且被建造在使徒和先知的根基上，有耶穌基督［Jesus Christ］自己為房角石，

21 全房［all the building］靠他聯絡得合式，漸漸成為主的聖殿。

22 你們也靠他同被建造，成為神藉著靈［Spirit］居住的所在。

Chapter 2

1 AND he has quickened you also who were dead because of your sins and trespasses;

2 In which you previously walked according to the worldly course of this world, and according to the will of the supreme ruler of the air, the spirit which is active in the children of disobedience.

3 In those very deeds in which we were also corrupted from the very beginning through the lusts of the flesh, fulfilling the wills of the flesh and of the mind: thereby we became completely the children of wrath, even as others.

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us,

5 Even when we were dead in our sins, has made us live together with Christ, by whose grace we are saved;

6 And he has raised us up with him, and seated us with him in heaven, through Jesus Christ.

7 In the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Jesus Christ.

8 For it is by grace that you are saved through faith; not of your doing: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10 For we are his creation, created through Jesus Christ ultimately for good works, which God has before ordained that we should live in them.

11 Wherefore remember that you were Gentiles in the flesh from the beginning, and you were called Uncircumcision, differing from that which is called Circumcision, which is the work of the hands in the flesh.

12 At that time you were without Christ, being aliens to the customs of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of the promise, without hope, and without God in the world.

13 But now, through Jesus Christ, you who sometimes were far off are brought near by the blood of Christ.

14 For he is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the fence of separation between them;

15 And he has abolished by his precious body, the enmity between them, and he has abolished by his commandments, the ordinances of the law, that he may create, in his person, from the two, a new man, thus making peace;

16 And he reconciled both in one body with God, and with his cross he destroyed the enmity:

17 And he came and preached peace to you who are far away and to those who are near.

18 Through him we both are able to draw near by one Spirit to the Father.

19 Thus from henceforth you are neither strangers, nor foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and children of the household of God;

20 And you are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the corner-stone of the building:

21 And through him the whole building is fashioned and grows into a holy temple through the help of the LORD:

22 You also are builded by him for a habitation of God through the Spirit.
